A brief connection to God’s Spirit in the middle of the week.
Wednesday Message 11-22-17
Thank you. I’ve learned a lot about giving thanks this week.
For those who don’t know, I got to have an overnight in the hospital this last Sunday night. I was out to dinner and suddenly felt very sick, on the way to the bathroom, I passed out, twice! I always do it right! The short story is that we have to figure out what i ate or drank that made me suddenly sick. The other discovery is that I have an unusually slow heart rate. Notice I said unusually, not abnormally! I guess I have too much peace in my heart. 🙂 I have an appointment with my primary care doctor, and together we will talk with a cardiologist and figure out any course of treatment. Everything is going to be OK.
Thank you to all who have heard and have been flooding me with prayers. I feel them. I know God is aware. And your prayers for me have lightened the burden of the event as you share the concern with me.
Thank you are just two small words that are filled with so much. And my thank you this week is filled with a renewed humbleness of being the one in need. It’s not a comfortable place to be, but it’s a wonderfully overwhelming place to experience the incredible gift of love and compassion that humans are capable of sharing.
So, thank you. May we be this way all the time with each other, with all. Then, I know the love of God in Christ will be constantly visible. Thank you for making it so visible to me and to my family this week.
Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day, may we all commit to making God’s love in Jesus Christ visible…. with all.
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
