“Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”
This is the 4th Habit of Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”
And it’s so important in our relationships. Putting others first has a way of changing our whole lives, and our whole way of living, for the better. Being willing to listen, rather than just speak can put a conversation at ease. Trusting that there is truth in others not just in yourself, honors the Spirit of God that’s in all of us.
Remember, Jesus gave us an order of how to be in relationships. Love God; Love others, Love yourself.
Seems a pretty faithful way to live.
How about putting it into practice…. Today!
Peace in our journeys,
