I’ve been praying for rain here in Tucson. And I’m grateful that we have gotten some.
I heard someone talk about their prayers for rain, and the specific times they wanted (or didn’t want) it to rain. I giggled.
I’ve done that.
Lord, we need rain, and it would be most convenient if you could make it rain between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. so that it causes everything to cool down and doesn’t interfere with my scheduled walk through Sabino Canyon.
What is God? Our personal assistant?
I suppose it’s OK to ask, just not expect that God will grant your wish.
What about the people working on the roads who work at night when the sun is not out and it’s not so blasted hot? Don’t you think they pray that it won’t rain between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.?
How about you ask for rain, and let God decide what’s best! Maybe let God be God.
Peace in our journeys,
Pastor Steve Melde
